Casey, O'Malley Associates' online classes reference the world-renowned Carson Dunlop Fundamentals of Home Inspection (40 hr class) and Principles of Home Inspection (100+ hr class) materials. These courses are approved for CE credits by most home inspector associations, including ASHI. You need only provide the course certificate, provided by COA, when submitting for CE.

Many states have specific education requirements for home inspector licensing, certification, etc. We recommend that you check the American Society of Home Inspectors site here for preliminary information and the specific state web site for detailed information.

The following states have no education requirements for home inspectors as of January, 2009. However, there may be other requirements such as registration, etc. We recommend that you consider our online courses as your choice for education (some states may require additional hours and/or classroom or field study) prior to starting an inspection business in any state, including those listed below.

Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida (licensing required in 2010 Except the County of Charlotte, which currently requires licensing.), Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Washington (licensing required in 2009), Wisconsin, Wyoming

These classes are CEU/CEC/CE/MRC approved for the hours listed below by the states of Alaska, New Jersey, Mississippi and Connecticut, ASHI, FABI, CREIA and NACHI.  NAHI has approved all classes for CE credit except Finish Work and Doors, Windows and Glass.  More licensing state approvals are pending - we expect these shortly - check back often.
